1. Given that f and g are functions given by the following
f : x-->x2, where x is real number
g: x -->2x, where x is real number
Find
(a) the inverse of f, state its range and domain
(b) the inverse of g, state its range and domain.
(c) composite function ff, gg, fg, gf
2. Given that a function f is defined by f: x --> x2+1. Find
(a) f -1
(b) ff
(c) ff -1
(d) f -1f
3. Show that the function f(x)=x 2 + 2x+5 is always positive.
4. Show that the function f(x) = x 2 -2x+5 has no real roots.
